Summary: Faith and Culture in the Work of Michael Paul Gallagher

The article deals with the topic of the relationship between faith and culture as reflected in the work of Michael Paul Gallagher. At first, it explains his notion of the terms “faith” and “culture”. The following part describes the relation between these two with regard to the contemporary postmodern context. The relation is complex since culture can block human disposition to faith, but at the same time it is an area necessary for opening human heart to God. The purpose of the article is to serve as an inspiration in catechesis, which is suggested in the conclusion.
